The story was created by Chrysander Agius, Bryan Muscat and Louise Muscat. Bryan Muscat wrote the script and directed the play, while Louise Muscat and Bryan Muscat produced it at Spazju Kreattiv in August 2004.
John Buhagiar, a powerful businessman, has reached the final three weeks of his life. Confined to a hospital room, he is spending his last days receiving treatment for the devastating illness of AIDS. As a character, John is deeply difficult: harsh, uncompromising, and stubborn to the core. He has made many enemies, yet many people once depended on him. Now, as death approaches, he finds himself alone and isolated in his hospital room, with Karen, the nurse, as his only human contact.
Matthew Attard was dismissed from his job by John after one of Buhagiar’s new projects proposed demolishing a block of abandoned houses to make way for a new hotel. Those same houses were being used as shelters by the country’s homeless community. Matthew became the front man in the fight to stop the project. He opposed it fiercely, and in the end, it cost him his position within the company.
Yet Matthew is the only person who decides to visit Buhagiar. John is convinced that Matthew’s visit is connected to the project—but is it? Will Matthew manage to change his mind? Something clearly happens, because shortly before his death, John sends for the notary. A change is made…
